Flirting with smiling!

There is one straightforward way with which anybody can make themselves more attractive when flirting. The secret is simple. They do it by smiling!

What effect does smiling have on the beholder? It will cheer them up. It will make them believe that you are younger. You will be thought of as warm and outgoing, rather than cold and introverted—you want to be labelled with the former tags as opposed to the latter.

You can even change the way you are feeling when you smile. Try it the next time you are angry! Studies have shown that smiling actually affects the way you think by improving your mood. Frowning makes your mood go sour! In fact, you can check yourself now! Touch your forehead, and find out whether it is smooth or creased. If you have a tendency to frown, you can do this to remove the frown. Another tip is to raise your eyebrows every now and again.

Smiles have a huge variety! Some of the types of smiles that you will see are as follows:

The genuine smile

Usually not held for longer than four seconds, the skin around the eye-socket is pulled inwards, leaving a wrinkled look around the eyes of the person smiling. If the lips are closed when this type of smile is performed, the person is smiling at something in their private experience. The upper teeth are commonly revealed by a friendly greeting, usually accompanied with eye contact. Both upper and lower teeth are revealed with a broad smile, which usually turns into a laugh, and rarely includes eye contact. Look at the eyes to identify this genuine smile from the others!

The upset smile

If you ask someone to smile when they are upset and don’t really feel like smiling, you will often see this sort of smile. A semi-frown, it’s quite common for this smile to be somewhat lop-sided. It’s quite apparent that the person is having a job smiling, and quite easy to tell. This type of smile does not cause any changes around the eyes.

The fake smile

Also somewhat lop-sided but less so than the upset smile, this smile is often worn by those who have to be seen smiling. It usually lasts longer than a genuine smile, and takes longer to appear. You can also see this smile on many photographs where people “smiled for the camera.” It appears when conscious effort directs the smile, as opposed to a spontaneously-appearing smile. As with the upset smile, no changes around the eyes occur. The lips will look as if they have been “pulled into place” rather than having “spontaneously jumped” to the right place as well.

Look for the signals that separate a fake smile from a genuine one, and you will be well on the way to improving your flirting performance! You need to be able to tell the mood of the recipient of your flirting to know how effective you are being. Hopefully you are now armed with all the facts to enable you to eat, drink, and be merry!
