Comment Policy

This blog is very popular, and as is the nature of such blogs, it attracts ridiculous amounts of comment spam.

Obviously I use a spam blocker, but that doesn’t stop all comment spam; in particular, it cannot stop comment spam entered by hand. Since this is the case, the following comment policy applies:

Any comment you write may be deleted without warning at any time if I consider it to be spam. If your comment contains a link to an unrelated site or you provide a URL that is not related to the comment or the corresponding material in the post to which you are commenting, it is likely to be considered comment spam. The editor’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning matters of this nature.

As of 18th April 2010, comments will not be edited manually for reasons of liability. Comments may be automatically edited if they contain profanity or language likely to be deemed insulting, degrading, or otherwise of an unacceptable nature.

In the event of a request to remove a comment because it contains copyright content or is libellous, the decision regarding whether to remove the comment will be that of the editor.
